NALC Food Drive, Fueling Hope: Over One Million Pounds of Food Donations Collected
We are proud to celebrate a historic milestone from this year’s National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Food Drive. For the first time, over one million pounds of food donations were collected across the State of Hawai‘i. “Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers who helped us reach our goal. We appreciate all of you for making a difference in someone else’s life,” says Hawai‘i State Association of Letter Carriers President Cynthia Ishizaki.
This achievement was made possible by the tireless efforts of NALC postal workers, union volunteers, the Hawai‘i Department of Education, and community partners. Your hard work has filled food bank shelves and helped families in need.
According to the Hawai‘i Foodbank, one in three families faces food insecurity. With federal funding down and summer meals limited, community support is critical. Hawai‘i’s unions will continue to stand with our local food banks so no family has to face hunger.
